FC Barcelona’s current jersey sponsor is Rakuten, a Japanese online retailing company from Tokyo, Japan.

Rakuten’s jersey sponsorship ends in 2022 July, resulting in FC Barcelona seeking newer partnerships with other companies for the players’ jerseys.

From the latest update, Polkadot is one of the options of FC Barcelona to have a partnership for their players’ new signature sportswear for this upcoming LaLiga.

Polkadot, launched in 2016, is a cryptocurrency with an open-source proof-of-stake blockchain network that features an interoperability function allowing cross-communication to other blockchains with low gas fees and transaction costs.

Polkadot’s feature took its name to the internet mainstream around the crypto community. Suppose the partnership between the two on jersey sponsorship is officially announced.
