Gerben Intellectual Property founder Josh Gerben, a trademark attorney, tweeted hours ago that the Golden Arches company filed not one but ten trademark applications for the Mcdonald’s metaverse journey.

The company has filed 10 (TEN!) trademark applications indicating it plans to offer "a virtual restaurant featuring actual and virtual goods" and "operating a virtual restaurant featuring home delivery."#Mcdonalds #Metaverse pic.twitter.com/J9pK7EK9nl
Just after a month when Mcdonald’s made fun of investors who are into cryptocurrency, the Golden Arches must think twice if joining the bandwagon in the making NFTs and metaverse as part of the company’s asset is worth the leap these days.
The tweet is likely to provide no other than NFTs and digital files. Interestingly, the brand McCafe was also included in their application for the metaverse trademark.
Mcdonald’s entering the metaverse is up against competing with other companies like the Animal Concerts, one of the emerging organizers in virtual concerts. With the submitted application, virtual concerts will be a solution for preventing fans from seeing their favorite acts perform due to health restrictions resulting from the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Mcdonald’s also partnered with Panera Bread, a bakery and cafe company, in moving the company’s brand into the metaverse. On February 3, Panera Bread also submitted the same trademark application for a restaurant and cafe chain in the virtual world.
