Bison Bank first to be granted with Crypto License

Banco de Portugal stated Thursday that Bison Bank, a Portuguese Financial Institution, has been granted a license to operate as a virtual asset service provider (VASP) by the Portuguese central bank (Banco de Portugal). 

The news outlet Sapo states that Bison Bank will establish a unique business branch called Bison Digital Assets to operate as a virtual asset exchange. 

According to its website, individual and institutional clients can use Bison Bank’s wealth management, depositary, and investment banking services. It is owned by a Chinese private equity firm based in Hong Kong.
