NFT Profile Pictures on Reddit

This month, Twitter started rolling out NFT features exclusively to Twitter Blue subscribers, allowing users to make digital arts as their profile picture verified and authenticated with an icon.

NFT stands for Non-Fungible Token. ‘Non-Fungible’ means only one of its kind. It uniquely exists and can’t be replaced with something else. The none-fungible token (NFT) can exist in any digital form in the blockchain. They can be in images, videos, music, or text.

NFTs embraced by the social media platforms are digital artworks created mostly by artists and sold from thousands to millions of dollars.

Now, not a shocker, but Reddit follows Twitter’s steps in embracing NFTs.

Reddit is a social news website where users can rate and discuss different content and share ideas.

Reddit was testing NFTs as profile pictures, same with Twitter. It is still early to get hype about the news, but the future features are related to NFTs.
